To commemorate World Environment Day 2006, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Foundation will organise an awareness camp at the city centre salt lake to promote the World Environment Day theme. The slogan emphasizes the importance of protecting drylands, which cover more than 40% of the planet's surface. This ecosystem is home to one-third of the world's people who are more vulnerable members of society. Volunteers will distribute leaflets and badges to the people from all walks of life on 5 June from 11 30 am onwards.
